Welcome to our homepage. We are Linda Wyatt-deGroot and Harold deGroot. We have a small kennel of select Labrador Retrievers, located in southeastern Ontario, Canada. We are located 2 hours east of Toronto and about 2- 1/2 hours southwest of Ottawa. Please visit our males and females sections to see the current Labradors in our breeding program. All of our breeding dogs have appropriate hip and elbow certifications and annual CERF eye clearances. Many have been Optigen tested. Any that have not, will be bred only to an Optigen clear breeding mate. Some have official Canadian Kennel Club or American Kennel Club titles, all come from a strong pedigree of such, and ALL have the friendly temperament and overall good health that families time and again, are looking for. Our puppies are home raised and sold on a CKC non breeding registration. They are registered, tattooed, vet examined and vaccinated, de-wormed 3 or more times, and come with a 2 year written health guarantee, a comprehensive information package including a health report/summary. I provide ongoing support and guidance for the LIFE of your puppy. If for any reason you cannot keep your puppy, he/she will return to Staghorn and a new home will be carefully screened. Having grown up with Labs, it was natural that this would be the breed I would have now. One very special boy was Chester, my first Lab. Chester helped me raise my children. His urn sits stately on our "mantle." Our foundation stud dog Mac, (Ch. Lindenhall's McIlwain Protégé) was named after my late father, Gord McIlwain, who was an avid duck hunter and Labrador Trainer. We are very proud to have been owned by Mac. He ranked two years in a row as the Number Two Lab in Canada. ('96 & '97) Mac was the foundation of our breeding program and a very proud ambassador of our breed, who threw his kind and even temperament to his puppies. In his later years, he was a fun loving veteran who was loved by all who visited him. He has left us a legacy of love in his kids and grandkids here. Those who have been to our home know that I have a display in my hallway of pictures of puppies that I have sold. We fondly call this "Staghorn's Hall of Fame." I decided to take this one step further and with Harold's help (and patience!) have developed the Hall of Fame on our web page. Families who have bought puppies from us and who are kind enough to keep in touch, send pictures and notes about their pups as they grow, can see their dog's picture and his/her story. If you have sent me a picture and cannot find it here, a) I apologize, and b) please re-send it, it may not have been useable due to colour, darkness, format, etc. I invite you to browse through our Hall of Fame pages, to see the types of dogs I breed, the names of their parents are listed, and also to see the types of families and lifestyles my dogs do well in. I am proud of all my dogs!!!! I also have a yen for the Miniature Pinscher breed. Raven (Black and Rust, seen below) was gently helped to the Rainbow Bridge October, 2008 and her niece, Bug (Rust) is now the sole spoiled little sweetheart of Staghorn. If you ask the Labs, they'll tell you that they are quite bossy and rule the place! Pictured below is Raven. To give you an idea of the size, she was lying between my feet, on the footrest of the lazy-boy (girl?) chair. Thanks for visiting our webpage. We welcome you here and invite you to check back often, especially to our current events/upcoming litters page, where we try to keep up with our current happenings. And the friendly Labs at Staghorn would love to have you visit them in person. Visit our Current Events Page |
