PLAYTIME AT STAGHORN

Whenever possible, we like to get the Staghorn Gang members out into our fenced field to romp and play. They live for these fun times. We have approximately 2 acres fenced for them, not for all day long. They have a smaller, but quite safe, exercise yard for during the day, about the size of the average city backyard. During these supervised play times in the larger field area, they enjoy tromping in the small creek that fills up in the spring, fetching sticks and tennis balls, and in summer, Harold leaves about an acre of high grass uncut, except for the "mazes" he cuts into the grass, paths for running and playing. We also fill kiddy pools of water, for cooling off and "pool parties." Winter is probably their favourite time, bounding through the snow, catching snowballs, and lying on their backs, "making angels." They really enjoy it. Winter or summer, Mac has his favourite of all, a 5 gallon pail that he carries around, sometimes on his head, he lies with it, guards it from the others, (who couldn't care less about it!) and sometimes chews on it's edge, but he truly enjoys his pail.
